Mandatory Upgrade to Version 5
Due to an important change to our servers, versions of myWIFIzone before 5.0 will no longer be supported after December 31, 2010. If you are running an older version, you will need to remove it from your system, and download and install version 5 below. From a user standpoint, there are no other changes - myWIFIzone's Internet Access Blocking Software is still free and you still have the option of upgrading it to support hotspot services.
Downloading and Installing Version 5
Whether you decide to set up a HotZone, a HotZone Premium, a Free Zone or a Personal Zone, or you just decide to use it to block intruders, you need to download and install the same myWIFIzone software onto your computer.
To download myWIFIzone , simply
click the download button below and save the installation file
to your computer. Be sure to remember where you saved the file
(like on the desktop).
Once the file has downloaded completely, please open the
folder containing the file you downloaded. Double-click the
installation file you just downloaded to start installing
myWIFIzone on your computer.
Installation Notes
Please check that your network
is configured properly for myWIFIzone to work
before installing.
A black (MS-DOS) window will appear for up to five minutes
during the installation process as the driver is
installed. Please do NOT close this window! (It will close
itself).
If you are installing on Windows 2000 machines without
Service Pack 2 or above the installation wizard may ask
for the file "myWIFIzone.sys" (this file can be
found in the installation/Driver folder).
If the driver fails to install, you may need to
install the driver manually. When the
installation has been completed, you will be asked to
reboot your computer. After reboot, you can run myWIFIzone
from the Start button.
We recommend that you test your
network to ensure blocking is working after you
install.
